The search for the effective medical means of preventive maintenance and treatment
of "atypical pneumonia" (SARS) is vital problem. It is at present known that the inhibiting action on the culture of
the cells of virus SARS render interferons (a, b), and also ribavirin in the high concentrations (500-5000 g/ml).
Purpose of a study. To study in vitro and in vivo the effectiveness of aribidola (PRIVATELY
HELD COMPANY Of "masterlek") and its derived - mezilata arbidola ((NPF "SINBIAS FARMA", g.Donetsk, the Ukraine,
the supplier PRIVATELY HELD COMPANY Of "masterlek") with respect to agent SARS.

REPORT about the experimental study of embryotoxicity and influence on the reproductive function of the substance of the preparation of "arbidol"
The preparation of arbidol; is the antiviral and
immunostimulating means, it renders the immunomodulating and anti-influenza
action, specifically suppresses the viruses of influenza A and B prevents
contact and penetration of viruses into the cell, suppressing the confluence of
the lipid shell of virus with the cellular membranes. It possesses the
interferonindutsiruyushchim action, it stimulates the humoral and cellular
reactions of immunity, the phagocytic function of macrophages, increases the
stability of organism to the virus infections. Is reduced the frequency of the
development of the complications, connected with the virus infection, and also
the aggravations of chronic bacterial diseases.

Experimental study of arbidol antiinfluenza activity in mice
Background: Arbidol is a new Russian preparation with specific antiviral and immune stimulation
activity. It was elaborated in the Center for Chemical and Medical Preparation of the Allrussian Research
Chemical-Pharmaceutical Institute, Moscow.
Methods: To estimate protective dose of Arbidol for mice infected by A/Aichi/2/68
(H3N2) Influenza virus (adapted for them) according to its influence on mortality. There were 4 groups of
mice in experiment. In the group of positive control (no medicine, only virus) were 8 mice; in the group of
negative control (60 mg/kg of Arbidol, no virus) - 16 mice; two experimental groups with concentrations of
Arbidol - 30 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg - by 16 mice in each one. Arbidol was inoculated intragastrically by gavage 5 times.
Results: Mortality in experimental group with concentration of Arbidol 60 mg/kg was equaled to
31.3%, when it was 75% in the group of Arbidol 30 mg/kg. And it was 87.5% in the group of positive control. All mice
were alive in the group of negative control. Accordingly to this results therapeutically dose of Arbidol in this investigation was 60 mg/kg.
Conclusion: Results of this study are in agreement with previously received clinical
data of the therapeutical efficacy of Arbidol against Influenza.

A model for secondary postradiation immunodeficiency of mice
has been used to compare immunocorrective activities of some new immunomodulators
(arbidol, cagocel, myelopid, proleukinferon and fragmine) administered at late times
(2-3 months) after exposure to a nonlethal radiation dose (4.0 Gy). The highest
immunocorrective effect has been shown with fragmine and proleukinferon.
